If Sport Billy were a DJ, he'd have this
If Sport Billy were a DJ, he'd have this

We've all been here before - you turn up somewhere, ready to rock an expectant crowd and somehow the only thing stopping you from doing this is the stupid adaptor you left on your kitchen table at home. Or perhaps you're wondering around PLASA and the head of some big corporation bothers you for a cable and never returns it... oh that's probably just me. Well here in my hands is just the thing you need to cover almost all missing cable related emergencies - the Sport Billy bag of the DJ world. Check out the Electronic Musicians's Emergency Adaptor bag.

You have to love this bag - bar having a real red cross on it, it screams emergency. I could imagine a big St Bernard having one on a collar, ready to come to your aid at a gig. But it's perfectly sized to squeeze into a corner of your DJ rucksack for those just in case moments.

This is what you get:

1 x LED light + clip (it's bright red)
1 x 1/8 male stereo plug <-> (2x) 1/8 female stereo jack
1 x (2x) mono RCA male plug <-> 1/8" male stereo plug (6' cable + hook & loop cable tie)
1 x 1/8" male stereo plug <-> 1/4" female stereo jack
1 x 1/8" (2x) female stereo jack <-> 1/8" male stereo plug
1 x 1/8" female coupler
1 x 1/4" male stereo plug <-> (2x) female stereo 1/4" jacks
1 x 1/4" male stereo plug <-> (2x) female stereo " jacks (Y-cable) (2) 1/4" male stereo plug <-> 1/8" female stereo jack
2 x 1/4" female stereo coupler
2 x XLR female jack <-> 1/4" male stereo plug
2 x XLR male plug <-> 1/4" male stereo plug
2 x RCA mono female jack <-> 1/4" male stereo plug
2 x RCA mono female coupler

So what we have is a collection of almost every audio connector known to man, pretty much covering any last minute cabling emergency you might be faced with. The whole kit almost completely fits together as well, bar the RCA couplers.

I'm going to be honest here (for that is what you expect) and say that this is no set of monster cables. These components have been sourced and brought together purely for emergencies and almost in a throwaway style - lose one connector and just replace it. Don't expect gold plated connectors or heavy weight quality.

What you get is an extremely handy and cost effective bag of stuff to help you out in those times of need. If you play out on a regular basis in different place with different gear, you need one of these. Hell get two bags, just to be sure.

If you want one, check out the Electronic Musicians's Emergency Adaptor bag site and you can even pick one up from there as well for the princely sum of $65 plus postage - considerably cheaper than popping off to your local audio stuff store and buying these bits individually.

Hmmm... I guess Safari is just too clever for it's own good. Thanks for that - I'd never have spotted that. Anyway, get back to reeling.

Like K-bot I've been collecting adaptors and stuff for a while so this doesn't help me out. But If I was just starting out and the value of this product was aight (didnt check the price) then I'd BAG one (sorry couldn't resist).

No DJ should underestimate the usefullness of spare adaptors etc.

Peace.
